How a Wine Club Can Help You

Posted by: admin  :  Category: host club

If you are new to wine, a wine club will help you find out which wines you really like (and those that you don’t). It is the perfect way of discovering new wines on a regular basis. If you’re not currently a member of a wine club, you should think again. Here’s why you are missing out.

Do you generally stick to what you know?

When faced with rows and rows of unfamiliar wines in the local supermarket, do you find that you always end up sticking to what you know? If you do branch out, it’s likely to be because you are swayed by the nicest, most appealing label or because you’ve gone on someone else’s recommendations (which then leave you feeling flat when you discover that you don’t like the same wine as them!) So in your quest to buy new, exciting, great tasting wines for your dinner party or Sunday Lunch, you come away with your same old, trusted bottle of wine. Sound familiar?

Join a Wine Club:

But all of that could be put to an end if you join a wine club. Each month or quarter (depending on the wine club), the wine club will send you a selection of wines from around the world. Featuring a variety of whites, reds, rosé and maybe the odd sparkling or dessert wine, you get to try wines from different grapes, countries and styles. True, you probably won’t like them all but it’s a great way of tasting your way through a selection of new releases, customer favourites and award winning wines that you probably wouldn’t have previously dared chosen.

Discover What You Like:

In the same way that we all like different food, the key thing to remember about wine is that we all like different wines and no one can tell you what you will like. (Remember this next time you are in the wine shop!) So to get the most out of your wines, you need to work out what you like. To help you along the way, most wine clubs enclose detailed information in the wine club case about the wines, so that you can learn more about the grape, country and winemaker as you drink. Suggestions for food matches can also give you confidence next time you host a dinner party. It’s also worth rating your wine club wines as you taste them, as you can be sure that you’ll have forgotten how the first ones tasted by the time you finish the case! Even better is to choose a wine club that displays customer comments on its website. That way, you’ll have an idea of what to expect from your wine club wine before you taste it.

Wine Styles Can Help:

Some wine clubs, such as the Virgin Wines Discovery Wine Club, categorise wines by style, such as “Classic Chardonnay”, “Oaky Aussie Chardonnay”, “Huge Reds” and “Soft and Juicy” reds. This is great for newcomers to wine, as it is far more intuitive than the traditional country and grape based categories, plus it recognises that certain grape varieties like Chardonnay can vary significantly in taste. The real advantage of being a member of a wine club that categorises wines in this way, is that it opens wine drinkers up to a far wider range of wines than they might otherwise have come across. For example in the “Fragrant but Dry” category, wine drinkers will find Argentinean Torrontes as a great value alternative to a pricey French Muscat – a recommendation that you won’t get from a wine club or shop that focuses simply on grape or country.

Try a Tasting Course:

To help wine drinkers learn more about wine, some wine clubs offer tasting courses or events. Tasting wines back-to-back allows drinkers to really get a feel for how two different wines taste and, ultimately, it can help them decide what to buy more of in the future.

Risk Free Buying:

Still not convinced? Part of the fun of joining a wine club is tasting new wines and discovering new favourites but if you are worried about getting something you really don’t like and wouldn’t have chosen yourself, don’t worry. Many wine clubs offer a money back guarantee, so if you come across a wine that you really can’t stomach, they will refund your money.

Join Today:

Joining a wine club can really help you when it comes to learning about wine. Not only will you get to taste a variety of new wines and find out what you really like but also it will give you more confidence in choosing your wines. You’ll never need worry about picking out a bottle of wine for your next dinner party again! To find out about Virgin Wines’ Discovery Wine Club, visit Virgin Wines.

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Winner of 2008 Best Asian Marine/yacht Club

Posted by: admin  :  Category: host club

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC) is a marina and a premier yachting and sailing club. The establishment is situated on the island of Langkawi (Kedah), Malaysia.

(Latitude 6o 18.2′ N, Longitude 99 o 51.1′ E, its main radio service being accessible at VHF Channel 69.)

In 2008, the Christofle Asia Boating Awards — the region’s premier sailing event, which celebrates the efforts of boat builders, marinas, clubs, enthusiasts and other like-minded individuals — crowned The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club with the title of Best Asian Marine / Yacht Club of the Year.

Former Commodore of the RLYC, Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah, has seen it fit to attribute the win to the dedication and hard work of staff, and the loyalty of members and supporters. RLYC Rear Commodore, Tunku Soraya Dakhlah Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah, also adds that the recognition would only increase Langkawi’s reputation and desirability as Asia’s premier sailing destination.

In brief, the award of Best Asian Marine / Yacht Club of the Year looked at and tips its hat to various features of The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.

Firstly, as a marina: The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club allocates some 205 berths for docking yachts. These berths vary in size and cater to a diverse range of crafts; in addition, six areas have also been designated for mega yachts (of up to 60m in length, and a low tide depth of 3 meters).

All berths enjoy electricity supply (single phase and 3 phase, from 32A to 100A), free water, wireless Internet access (spanning the whole club/marina), shower rooms/toilets, a swimming pool, 24 hours of security, maintenance services, laundry, fax, telephone services, and a supply of diesel fuel. Qualified professionals, equipped with the expertise to handle minor boat repairs and basic boat maintenance, are in attendance at all berths.

Then, as a club: The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club plays host to The Royal Langkawi International Regatta. First established in 2003, the event has managed to attract the biggest names from the international yacht racing and sailing crowd ever since.

As The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club has become an international melting pot of sorts, its two main restaurants, Charlie’s Place and  Captain’s Deck, choose to reflect this status by treating its colourful guests to an equally varied culinary palate.

Charlie’s Place serves Malaysian and Western dishes, delectable cocktails and various beverages to accompany the picturesque sunsets and sensual bellows of the sea.

Captain’s Deck is far more adventurous, and its menu, featuring pan-Asian delicacies, panders toward the eclectic. Here, live music would serenade patrons, who are given the choice of savouring the fine dining experience from various locations on the penthouse deck (all of which display an arresting view of the marina and the azure blue sea). The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is quite capable of handling functions, and may accommodate up to 300 people at any one time.

There is something for everyone at the The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club: Those seeking play or peace of mind may be drawn to the  waterfront swimming pool, jaccuzi and sauna. Deep-sea fishing, sailing, and scuba diving may fancy the inquisitive and hardcore sea-lovers. The audaciously daring should not hold back from experiencing the jet skis and speedboats.

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club offers, through its Hocus Pocus, three outlets for the curious: The Boatique, a chandlery, featuring signature souvenirs, marine supplies and general items; The Bottle Shop, a duty-free wine and liquor outlet; and the Cyber Centre, an internet cafe.

If personal sightseeing and exploration is more to one’s liking, The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club allows guest to book tours, and charter yachts from the various offices within club premises. Guests may try exploring the island of Langkawi itself, which is abundantly laden with lush greenery, gorgeous (and historical) locations, an assortment of sea-based culinary delights, and folklore spanning some few centuries (oftentimes curiously interweaved with history.) A nearby island, Pulau Dayang Bunting, renown for its uniquely placed fresh water lake and scenic seaside, may also prove to be a tempting and irresistible draw for those with an affinity for natural beauty.

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is both marina and club, and it strives to afford world-class facilities and a variety of leisure diversions to its distinguished guests.

The establishment warmly welcomes all to the experience.

Finding a single to share a moment with is every person’s fantasy. This has led to establishments of singles social clubs in many states, cities and countries of the world. Some clubs allow singles with children to join but some are strictly for singles who have never been mothers. There are international clubs for singles from all the five continents. Regardless of where you come from you can be a member to such clubs. Some are rather cheap while others are a bit more expensive. The membership fee is around 20 USD per year. Most of the singles social clubs host regular social events that are well scheduled. They involve sports, cultural activities, solo travel events as well as general adventure. There are some groups in these same clubs which have organized social circles.

The social circles are great part of singles social clubs. A full-featured club organizes the circle in such a way that, every person gets a chance to host an event. This way all the members get to know each other. To make it better every member has a position or some sort of responsibility. A form of co-dependency is formed where all the special talents are put into use. For example when it comes to singing, there is a person who sings best and therefore he/she is given the responsibility of organizing all the singing competition. Everybody is made to sing however bad they are at it. This turns out to be so much fun.

If it is sports there are sports leaders for every sport activity. It might be athletics, football or table tennis. There is a book where all the members have to tick after they participate in every game. It does not matter whether you can run or not. If you have two strong legs it is a rule that you have to run. Every member has to participate in every single event. Within a very short time singles who have either hidden or known talents find a lot of fun in singles social clubs. Professionals benefit a lot from these clubs. They get an opportunity to be away from work and think about fun. They too get a chance to hook up with fellow singles, build friendships and even find life-time partners.

There are wonderful socializing opportunities in singles social clubs. Your social skills are honed here and you broaden your view about dating. Singles in these clubs are in search of many things. It might be friendship, travel companionship, activity partners or romance. Not all people in the clubs that are interested in intimacy. There are people who have dates and excellent romance partners and yet they do not have companions in the kind of activity they enjoy best. It might be mountain climbing, bush-tracking or birds watching. When they join big masses of people who are ready to explore they find more fun and happiness. This enhances their romantic relationships and rejuvenates their sex life. Singles social clubs are a great resource for people who feel they are somehow anti-social.
